In today’s session, we continued in our series of helping men develop convictions as redemptive leaders. That is, men of God, bought and saved by the blood of Christ becoming useful as tools of grace, empowered by God, for His purposes.
In 2 Corinthians 4:13, in a reference to Psalm 116:10, Paul writes, “I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE, we also believe, therefore we also speak.”
By God’s grace, we speak as blood-bought slaves of Christ.
Since redeemed ourselves, we are called to a ministry of usefulness.
Each one of us has a purpose in this life to speak truth into the lives of others as a redemptive influence.
We have two main problems:
We don’t take time to know the truth (Romans 12:1-2)
We must work to ponder how truth relates to life.
It is both a privilege and a discipline to filter all things in this life through a Biblical framework of belief.
We are converted by knowledge and belief of truth.
Thus, growth comes by knowledge and faith, too!
We must give ourselves over to the truth of God’s Word.
This requires humility.
We are to die to ourselves and our autonomous ways of thinking.
When we humble ourselves under God’s word, His power is immediately available to us to believe, stand firm in new convictions, and share the truth of God’s Word with others.
Philippians 2:12-13 – God is at work in us. We are His workmanship. Convictions about the truth of God’s Word are cemented in our hearts, and we then are made useful by Him.
Paul tells us our life’s purpose in 2 Cor. 4:15. Amazingly, as redeemed souls our life now has purpose as we become instruments for the spreading of the grace of God to more and more people as we speak.
Isn’t it a wonderful plan of God that He leaves us here, after redemption, so that that we can be a redeeming influence among others? We are overwhelmingly grateful to our great God that we are swept up in His purposes for the redemption of souls.
