  • I'll Be Happy When - How to Find Joy When Life Feels Heavy

Have you ever caught yourself saying, “I'll be happy when…”?

When life slows down. When you lose the weight. When things finally get easier.

But what happens when that finish line keeps moving?

In this episode of Grace in the Dark, I'm sharing what I'm learning about finding joy in the middle of real life, even when depression, anxiety, or the everyday heaviness hasn't gone away.

We'll talk about the pressure to have everything together, the difference between happiness and joy, and why we don't have to wait for a better season to appreciate the one we're living right now.

Because the heaviness can be real without being the only thing that's real.

I'd love to hear from you: What's one good moment you've noticed lately, even in a hard season? Leave a comment and tell me.

If this episode encouraged you, share it with another woman who might need the reminder.

  • The Guilt of the Hard Days - Why I Can't Just Pray This Away

Have you ever prayed for God to take away the heaviness…only to wake up the next morning and realize it was still there?

    I have.

And for a long time, that brought a lot of guilt with it.

I loved Jesus. I believed God was good. I had so much in my life to be thankful for. So why was I still struggling? Why couldn't I just pray harder, have more faith, or somehow make myself feel better?

In this episode of Grace in the Dark, I'm talking honestly about the guilt that can come with struggling with depression as a Christian—and what I've slowly learned about faith in the middle of the hard days.

We'll talk about the prayers I prayed when I desperately wanted the darkness to lift, the honesty we see in David's Psalms, and why needing medication, therapy, or other support doesn't mean your faith is weak.

We'll also talk about some of the things we sometimes say to people who are struggling—like "choose joy" or "other people have it worse"—and why what someone may need most isn't an answer, but someone willing to sit with them in the hard place.

If you've ever wondered why you still feel this way when you've prayed about it, or felt guilty because you thought a Christian shouldn't struggle like this, this conversation is for you.

Your struggle is not proof that your faith is failing. You can love Jesus deeply and still need help walking through a hard season. 🤍

  • When Everyone Else Seems to Have It Together

Have you ever looked around at other women and wondered why everyone else seems to have it together except you?

It’s so easy to compare everything we know about ourselves to the little bit we can see of someone else—and suddenly feel like we’re behind, failing, or just not as good at life as everyone around us.

In this episode of Grace in the Dark, we’re talking about comparison, hiding, and the loneliness that can come when we’re struggling but convinced everyone else is doing just fine.

We’ll talk about Galatians 6:2, why God didn’t intend for us to carry every burden alone, and what it can look like to let safe people into the places we usually try to hide.

You don’t have to tell everyone everything. But carrying everything by yourself doesn’t make you stronger. Sometimes it just makes you lonelier.

If you’re a Christian woman who has been comparing yourself to everyone around you, feeling behind, or quietly struggling while trying to look like you’re okay, this conversation is for you.

You are not behind. You are not weak. And you are not alone. 🤍

  • Why Does Anxiety Make Me Feel Like My Faith Isn’t Enough?

Does struggling with anxiety mean you aren't trusting God enough?

If you're a Christian woman who loves Jesus but still deals with anxiety, fear, overthinking, or worst-case-scenario thoughts, you may have wondered why your faith doesn't seem to make the anxiety go away.

In this episode of Grace in the Dark, we're talking honestly about anxiety and faith—and the guilt that can come when you know God is in control, but your mind and body still feel anxious.

We'll look at Philippians 4:6–7, what it can mean to bring our anxiety to God, and why having to bring the same fear to Him again doesn't mean you're failing.

Maybe faith isn't proving that we're never afraid. Maybe sometimes faith is what we do with the fear when it comes.

If anxiety has ever made you question your faith or wonder what's wrong with you, this conversation is for you.

    You are not alone.

  • Can You Love Jesus & Still Struggle With Depression?

Can you love Jesus, trust God, go to church—and still struggle with depression?

I’ve asked myself that question more times than I can count.

In this first episode of Grace in the Dark, I’m talking honestly about what it’s like to love God while also walking through seasons of depression—and the shame that can come when we think stronger faith should somehow make the struggle disappear.

We’ll talk about Matthew 11:28, what Jesus actually invites us to do when we’re weary, and why struggling doesn’t mean your faith is failing.

I don’t have a five-step plan for fixing depression. I’m not talking to you from the other side of the river. I’m talking to you from the middle of it.

And if you’re there too, I want you to know this:

    You are not alone. 🤍
