Sometimes the hardest thing to release is the guilt God already forgave.

We replay old mistakes.Question old seasons.Carry shame we were never meant to hold onto forever.

But IJohn 1:9 reminds us:“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us…”

Forgiveness isn’t partial.Grace isn’t temporary.And your past is not stronger than God’s mercy.

Tonight on Grace in the Grit, special guest Natalie Bowen and I are having a real conversation about shame, healing, emotional guilt, and learning how to walk in freedom instead of condemnation.

Sometimes the hardest thing to understand is why life still hurts… even when you did everything right.

You prayed.

You stayed faithful.

You gave your best.

And somehow your heart still ended up carrying pain.

Some things just… didn’t turn out how I prayed.

And if I’m honest, that kind of grief hits different.

It’s not just loss…

It’s the life you pictured.

The outcome you believed for.

The prayers you held onto.

But I’m learning this:

God isn’t scared of my disappointment.

He meets me right in it.

The version of me that didn’t know better…

I used to judge her.

The choices.

The reactions.

The things I stayed in too long.

But now?

I see her differently.

She wasn’t weak… she was learning.

She wasn’t failing… she was surviving.

Romans 8:1 reminds me:

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

So I’m letting go of the shame.

I’m choosing grace.

Sometimes you don’t see God in the middle of it…

the stress, the heartbreak, the waiting, the “why is this happening?”

But then time passes…

and you look back.

And suddenly you see it—

He carried you.

He protected you.

He made a way when there wasn’t one.

God was there the whole time.

You can’t move forward

while constantly looking back at what broke you,

who hurt you,

or who you used to be.

📖 Luke 9:62 — “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

God didn’t bring you this far

for you to stay stuck in old chapters.

This episode is for the ones replaying the past…

the ones carrying regret…

the ones who feel pulled backward.

It’s time to release it.

It’s time to move forward.
