  • This Should Be A Movie | Week 4 | Your God Is Able | Daniel 6:1-28
Hollywood is missing out on story lines that would make them millions! “This Should Be A Movie” is a short biblical narrative series, grabbing familiar Old Testament Sunday School stories and re-visiting them through older eyes. This morning we will consider the story of Daniel in the lions’ den. This story is an incredible story of deliverance – NOT “from” a trial but “through” a trial. This story really sets the stage for a pivotal moment in Israel’s history; when the King of a world empire (the Medo-Persians) is impacted enough by the God of Israel to issue a decree to rebuild their city, their walls, and their temple and release the Jews to go back home!

  • This Should Be A Movie | Week 3 | Finishing Well | 2 Kings 5:1-27
Hollywood is missing out on story lines that would make them millions! “This Should Be A Movie” is a short biblical narrative series, grabbing familiar Old Testament Sunday School stories and re-visiting them through older eyes. This morning we will consider the story of Naaman the leper, and his divine healing. This story is an incredible story, really about two men. The story should have had a happy ending in verse 19, but because of the greed of one man our ending is kind of tragic! It is not how you start, but how you finish! 2 Kings 5:1-27

  • This Should Be a Movie | Week 2 | Grace Illustrated | 2 Samuel 9:1-13
Hollywood is missing out on story lines that would make them millions! “This Should Be A Movie” is a short biblical narrative series, grabbing familiar Old Testament Sunday School stories and re-visiting them through older eyes. This morning we will consider the story of Mephibosheth and David. This story has been called by some the “greatest illustration of grace in the entire Old Testament.” When GRACE is added to any equation, things happen which DO NOT, and CANNOT, normally happen…that is why it is so amazing!

  • This Should Be A Movie | Week 1 | The Man In The Fire | Daniel 3
Hollywood is missing out on story lines that would make them millions! “This Should Be A Movie” is a short biblical narrative series, grabbing familiar Old Testament Sunday School stories and re-visiting them through older eyes. This morning we will consider the story of Nebuchadnezzar and the fiery furnace. The story of three young men, who honored the Lord by not worshiping an idol set up by their pagan King. These young men faced life-threatening circumstances by taking this stand. Their God, the God of the Bible, was the ONLY ONE who could deliver them from the fury of the King.

  • Dead Man Living | John 11:1-16 | Easter Sunday Sermon
This Easter Sunday morning, as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we want to consider another resurrection mentioned in the Bible. Actually, it is a resuscitation*, but nevertheless it is truly a divine miracle. This miracle is designed to confront each one of us with a decision which is summarized perfectly by John 11:26b, “Do you believe this?” Believing THIS or NOT believing THIS has eternal ramifications. Tune in to find out what is so important for one to believe.
*For clarification on this, watch the first few minutes of the video.

  • What Do You Long For? | Psalm 42
What do you long for? The answer to that question may vary depending upon stage of life or circumstances in life. The Bible is clear on WHAT, or better yet, WHO we should long for! In Psalm 42 in the old testament, the Psalmist was going through an emotionally difficult time that caused him to realize two things: (1) He was needy – NOT just in his current set of difficult circumstances, but all of the time, and (2) The deep need of his soul was God Himself. The Psalmist realized that God was not his BEST option, but that He was his ONLY option.

  • Can You Wait Patiently? | Psalm 40
Why is waiting for anything so hard? We struggle to wait in line at the grocery store, in traffic, in the fast food lane – just about everywhere! This morning, my hope is that we are encouraged by the Word of God to wait patiently and expectantly on the Lord…NOT on circumstances clearing up, NOT on trials disappearing, but intentionally and actively waiting on the Lord in the midst of these things. This morning, we will look at the benefits of waiting patiently, and we will also look at WHY it is so difficult to wait on the Lord consistently.

  • Can You Be Still? | Psalm 46
Wow! What a difference a week makes! If you are anything like me, you are going blind on the coronavirus updates – bad news on top of bad news – each day, more closures, more predictions for how long this will last. It can be exhausting! This morning, my hope is that we are encouraged by the Word of God revealing the character of God. My hope is that the Word of God will inspire and influence our thinking more than the news. It seems easier and easier to be worked up into a frenzy in light of current events, but can you BE STILL in light of all that is going on in our world today? Can we find rest in the midst of chaos and depend on god? Can we have certainty in the midst of uncertainty?

  • Book of Ecclesiastes | Wk 18 | Deceptive "Good"
Desiring riches and wealth, in and of themselves, is a true and ever present temptation for many believers in this life. There is an allure associated with having wealth, in that it offers hopes and dreams which it cannot fulfill. Having finished on a positive note, with divine viewpoint, in Ecclesiastes 5:18-20, Solomon in the old testament considers an anomaly and He goes OUT OF HIS WAY to convince us that wealth, in and of itself, is NOT true success! BUT, be careful, because wealth and the allure of wealth will try to convince you otherwise!
