Podcast Episode: LIFE Series – “Living In Faith Every Moment”
Host (Pastor Mike):
Welcome to today’s episode of the Grace Nation Podcast! I’m Pastor Mike, and I’m thrilled to introduce our brand-new series called LIFE: Living In Faith Every Moment.
LIFE – Live In Faith Every moment.
Over the next few episodes, we’re going to dive deep into what it truly means to live in faith every moment. Here’s a quick overview of the areas we’ll be covering:
1.Married Life – Communication in relationships.
2.Parent and Child Life – Building stronger family bonds.
3.Personal Life – Navigating careers, mental health, and purpose.
4.Financial Life – Honoring God with our resources.
Each area will challenge us to live intentionally, putting faith into action every day.
Let’s begin with our anchor scripture for this series:
“The one who loves his life [eventually] loses it [through death], but the one who hates his life in this world [and is concerned with pleasing God] will keep it for life eternal.”
— John 12:25 (AMP)
This verse challenges us to think beyond the temporary and live for what truly matters—pleasing God and walking in His will.
Pause for Reflection
Take a deep breath with me. Inhale. Now exhale. Isn’t it incredible that with every breath, God gives us another chance to live intentionally?
Playing the Game of LIFE
As I mentioned, this series was inspired by the LIFE board game. Recently, I played the game with my family. I’ll admit—I had forgotten how to play, so I had to reread the instructions carefully. That moment reminded me of how important it is to know the rules—not just for a game, but for life itself.
In the game, you’re faced with two initial paths:
1.The Career Path—quick and easy, but risky.
2.The College Path—an investment with greater rewards over time.
This mirrors how the world often presents life to us:
•Focus on success, money, and retirement.
•Live life your way.
But as believers, we know life doesn’t end at retirement. The real “end” is determined by the choices we make now—choices that impact eternity.
The Power of Sovereign Will
God has given us an incredible gift: the power to choose. This sovereign will allows us to decide whether we’ll follow Him or go our own way. Why? Because true love requires a choice.
Ephesians 5:15-17 reminds us:
“Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—making the most of the time, because the days are evil.”
So, here’s the big question: Are you living in faith every moment, or are you living in flesh every moment?
Two Contrasting Lives
In Luke 16:19-25, Jesus tells the story of the rich man and Lazarus. Both had faith, but their faith was rooted in different things. Lazarus trusted God, while the rich man trusted in his wealth.
This story challenges us to examine our own lives. Where is your faith anchored?
Four Types of Faith
As we play this game of life, let’s evaluate what kind of faith we possess. Scripture highlights four types:
1.Temporary Faith (Luke 8:13) – Shallow and fleeting.
2.Dead Faith (James 2:17) – Without action, it’s lifeless.
3.Intellectual Faith (James 2:19) – Belief without transformation.
4.Real Faith (Romans 10:9-10) – Rooted in Jesus and leads to salvation.
Which type of faith do you have?
