Our 400th episode! We continue in 1 Thessalonians 4:4-12 looking at how the believer is called to walk before the Father: fleeing sexual immorality, loving the brethren, and walking properly toward the unbeliever.
Today we begin our study of 1 Thessalonians 4 and the sanctification, or the setting apart to God, of the believer in our walk. This involves saying no to sexual immorality and yes to the Lord through grace and fellowship.
Today, we look at chapter three of 1 Thessalonians and Paul's sending of Timothy to get a status on how the Thessalonian believers are doing in the light of their suffering and persecution, and the encouraging report Timothy brought back.
Last time we looked at the topic of rewards. In this episode, we look at a part of rewards which are crowns. We define what are the crowns mentioned, how they are obtained and why are they important for every Church age believer.
Today we turn our attention to the topic of rewards in preparation for looking at crowns. We see rewards are based on grace and the Lord's desire to use every believer for good works for His glory and honor that He has prepared for them (Ephesians 2:8-10). The believer who is willing to be used of the Lord will receive eternal rewards.
We complete chapter 2 of 1 Thessalonians with Paul's declaration to the Thessalonians that they are his crown of rejoicing at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
We continue our study of 1 Thessalonians by looking at verses 2:10-14 and Paul's love and care for them and how the Thessalonians responded to the Word of God which resulted in them walking worthy of God by grace.
This episode focuses on 1 Thessalonians 2:5-9 and Paul's sacrificial love for the believers at Thessalonica which was demonstrated by his continual laboring and toiling for them in the gospel and the word of God.
Today we start 1 Thessalonians 2 and focus on verses 1-4. The subject is the example of Paul being approved by God for his ministry and how that also applies to every believer.
In this episode, we conclude chapter one of 1 Thessalonians by looking at verses 9-10 and Paul's encouragement of the Lord's return and the promise of being kept from the wrath (Tribulation) which will come upon the whole earth.
