God has deposited care packages of grace along our path of obedience. When we stall between deposits and fall short of the next installment of grace, a root of bitterness will spring up in our own hearts and minds. Perhaps, like Jonah, we cling to our own vain imaginations and desires which lead us down a different path, away from from the grace of God and to the place of our own choosing. Instead of becoming cynical and blaming God and others for our wasted state of gracelessness, we must lay aside our own plans and self-interpretations of God's will for our lives and return to the path of grace.
