Ephesians: Gospel-Shaped Relationships - Part 5: Designer MarriageOur world offers multiple definitions of marriage and what it can be. God, as creator, knows what is best. We are called to surrender to his design for our good and flourishing. Paul didn’t invent a new blueprint, he points back to Genesis as the standard. When we release our desire to define our world and instead live according to his Word we show a watching world what God is like. This is his design for all of our relationships, including marriage.

Part 4: Defusing the Bomb

When anger flares, we often focus on the sharp word, the forgotten errand, the dismissive tone. But beneath the surface lies something deeper: we want something we’re not getting. Our desires may be good and right, God-given even. The problem emerges when our desires turn into demands and we begin insisting that others meet them. The gospel shifts our focus from what we lack to what we’ve been given in Christ—acceptance, forgiveness, unfailing love and eternal security.

Part 3:  Truth TellersPaul spends three chapters reminding believers in Ephesus who they are in Christ; a new identity that shapes their relationships with each other. After establishing their gospel identity, Paul provides a list of behaviors to abandon and virtues to embrace, explaining the reason behind each instruction. Lying is a behavior that breaks trust and destroys community. By contrast, honesty builds and deepens our connections with each other.

Jesus’ prayer for us—even as he neared death on the cross—was that we would be one. Our love for one another is to reflect the extravagant love that the Father, Son and Spirit share among themselves. As God is one, so we are to be one. Jesus says that oneness is the single greatest factor that will lead to his reputation being honored among the nations.

When we allow culture to define our physical appearance, financial success, marital status, or sexuality, our relationship with God and others begins to shift. But when our identity is rooted in Christ, we experience clarity, humility, and unity in how we live and love. Throughout this series, we will return to this truth again and again: belief before behavior. Who we are in Jesus is the groundwork that shapes how we show up in every relationship.

Not Today, Satan - Part 3: Suit Up and Show UpThe Bible makes it clear that the demonic realm is real, but doesn't leave us in a place of despair, without instructions on how to do battle against such forces. We are in a spiritual battle that requires spiritual weapons, or as Paul talks about in Ephesians 6, the armor of God. The truth is, if we try to fight out of our own strength, we will fail. Only by properly dressing ourselves for battle, armed with the strength of God, can we overcome Satan.

Is your identity anchored in things like your accomplishments, your net worth, your social media presence? Or in God's purpose and plan for your life? Not Today, Satan - Part 1:  Closer Than You Think you think about the realm of the demonic, maybe your mind goes to Hollywood depictions of it rather than its real influence in the world around you. It’s much closer and much more sinister than Hollywood could ever portray. And even though the attacks and accusations of Satan can often lead us to despair, there is much hope to be found in fully surrendering to Jesus, the only one who has truly conquered our unseen enemy.

The resurrection isn't just a story - it's the event in history that launched a movement that changed everything.  Despite Jesus predicting it multiple times, eyewitnesses were shocked to learn God had raised him from the dead.  If Jesus really rose from the dead, his resurrection has real implications for your life, your faith, and your future.
