Questions Jesus Asked - Part 2:  "Do You Want To Get Well?"

Jesus meets a man that’s been suffering for 38 years and asks an obvious question, “Do you want to get well?” He’s not simply asking about physical healing, he’s asking about something deeper. Jesus does the same for us. Do you want to be out of debt enough to stop shopping? Do you desire a good marriage enough to stop your abusive language? Do you want sexual purity enough to stop looking at porn? Sometimes we want our circumstances to change but we aren’t interested in changing.

Questions Jesus Asked - Part 1:  "What Do You Want?"Jesus asked this of two potential disciples in John 1 and again of a blind man in Mark 10. The question is a question of true motives, asking the potential disciples to dig deep into their own hearts. It also reveals Jesus’ true heart: that He was much more concerned about their heart than them just following rules.

One of the most frustrating things about being a Jesus follower is the questions people ask about what you believe. If you had forty-five minutes, you could give a thorough answer. We don’t combat the “what-ifs” by fixating on worst-case scenarios, we combat them by focusing on God’s character, bringing our needs to him in prayer, and practicing gratitude.
