The Christian has one of the greatest privileges. And that is we can talk to God in prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord. We have access to the greatest source of power that anyone can have that far surpasses any earthly power and we are called to pray for ourselves and for others.

We are living in perilous times. The church is surrounded by danger and sometimes it may be coming from within the church walls. We may have torn relationships due to our sin. We are becoming impatient with one another. We may have tried everything to mend those relationships but to no avail. What do we do now- And what do we do when the entire world has turned against us- Wait ...

Like many of our great creeds and confessions, what do they say about what we believe- And how does it impact our thinking about life and how precious life is- But life is not life without fellowship with God. And the good news is that Jesus has been risen from the dead and he grants us that life once we believe.

Justice is a word that gets thrown around too quickly and rashly without investigation. True justice comes from God and his law. If we sin against a brother there are consequences. James describes the consequences of those who refuse to repent and this is a comfort for Christians who may have been wronged in this life.

True arrogance is found in those who try to live independently of God. By trying to live independently of God, we can only bear rotten fruits. What does it look like to live a life confident in God and his will-

Who is the true Lawgiver and Judge- Many would want to self-elevate to this position but only one is worthy of such a role. We are called to judge good from evil in this life, so what type of judging is he referring to-

We live in a society that is desensitizing sin in our own lives. But how does God feel about sin- And what should our response be- Humility or pride- Do we become defensive when we are confronted with our own sin and how much God actually hates sin- This is what makes God's grace so amazing.

We have read so far that our tongues are set on fire by hell and that worldly wisdom is demonic. So, where does the quarreling and fighting begin- Can we blame it all on the devil- Or does it come from each individual's desires and grows up into conflict- What is the solution to the conflict that exists within us all-

In a time of unrest and widespread rebellion, where is our peace- Is it in the world- Where is the wisdom that can help to guide us toward peace- Is it from the world- We can see that is not helping. So, the answer to these questions is the answer the church ought to seek when the unrest 'out there' peeks its head in 'here.'
