In Acts 7-54-60, Luke draws to a close his account of the witness of Christ's disciples in Jerusalem with Stephen who sealed his testimony with his blood.

In Acts 7-44-53, Stephen concludes his survey of Israelite history, making direct application to his hearers of the sobering lesson of Israel's ongoing hostility to God's messengers.

2 Samuel 5-1-25 records the long awaited establishment of the Davidic kingdom, which foreshadowed the coming of the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In Acts 7-17-43, Stephen continues to answer his accusers and shows how they had despised and rejected Moses, the redeemer whom God had sent.

2 Samuel 2-1-4-12 describes the seven years of conflict and civil war in Israel before the competing rivalries are resolved in favor of God's chosen king.

In Acts 7-1-16, Stephen answers his accusers by giving a history of Israel to show how they had despised and mistreated Moses and the other deliverers, whom God had sent.

2 Samuel 1-1-27 begins with David receiving the news of Saul's death and records his reaction at the demise of his enemy.
