Before we start killing "ANTs" (Automatic Negative Thoughts), we need to know what type of ANTs we're dealing with. It's easier to kill an ANT manifestation if I know where they're coming from. We will look at some of these ANT species.

ANTs - Automatic Negative Thoughts. We all have them. Our thoughts are affected by a wide range of factors, but when ANTs creep in, how do we combat these negative thoughts?

In Exodus 17:15 Moses and his untrained army were in battle with the Amalekites, and as long as his arms were raised with his staff in the air, they prevailed. When his arms wearied, Aaron and Hur supported them, they called it Yahweh-nissi, the Lord is my Banner. The banner bearer always went before the troops: it was a source of encouragement and a sign that your armies were still in the battle. In a practical application it points to Christ as my frame of reference. He is my soul's gaze when I am in the battle of life. When faced with great failure, pressure or circumstances, how many of us run to Christ?

Few if any of us would open the door if we knew the Devil was knocking. The Devil masquerades his influence and presence. He hides! He looks for areas of subtle deception where we never attribute to him any acknowledgment or blame. These Satanic hiding places are places in our lives that we consider normal, yet Satan and his influence, potentially, ever so slightly, gets us off the course of truth.
