The very God who created everything – to the farthest reaches of the universe, knows your heart and He knows mine. He knows us and He cares for us. As Pastor Eric expresses in today’s message, this concept is mind blowing! It is impossible to wrap your head around.

We all have struggled with pride. This sin often lies at the root of our struggle with other sins as well. In today’s message, Pastor Eric reminds us that we need to humble ourselves and acknowledge that only God has the ability to redeem. We can’t do this on our own.

In today’s message, Pastor Eric reminds us what a wonderful gift God has given us in prayer. Even when we struggle to know the words to say, God listens and knows what’s in our hearts. He wants to be the first place we turn whether our hearts are burdened or full of joy.

A few careless, negative words can cause a lot of harm. As Pastor Eric leads us through this passage in 1 Samuel, we see Hannah desperate for a child and the words of another take her already aching heart and crush it. We must be careful as Christians that our words are building others up and not tearing them down.

As we begin our study of 1 Samuel with Pastor Eric, we encounter the plight of Hannah. She is barren and she desperately wants a child. Many of us have felt desperation at some point in our lives. Hannah’s response was to cry out to God, and guess what: He heard her hearts’ cry and answered her prayer.

Penance is nothing new. For thousands of years people have attempted to make right their wrongs by, what they think, is an equal measure of good. Friends, this is impossible. We can never make up for our sins!...no matter how many church services we attend. We MUST place our faith in Jesus.

Truly this life is fast paced! Our phones ringing and dinging...constantly reminding us to get to the next appointment. It's easy to lose sight of what's important...Jesus and our relationship with Him. Pastor Eric exhorts us today to slow down and focus on Jesus.

What Pastor Eric just referenced is the armor of God from Paul's letter to the church of Ephesus. But, the glorious truth about this armor is that each and every component points to a characteristic of Jesus. Jesus is our armor! He is the One that guides and protects us as we trust Him!
