Sunday January 26, 2020 – (Matthew 5:1-12) – If hearing the Beatitudes from the mouth of the Lord leaves you trying to figure out if you’re among those he calls bless-ed. If, like the 10 commandments, you’re scanning the Beatitudes trying to figure out if you’ve made the mark, that’s exactly what you should be wondering. The disciples probably were too. But then you have to keep listening.

Sunday January 12, 2020 – (Matthew 3:13-17) – I think the Baptism of the Lord refers to an event even bigger than all of those. All the elements are there. The Epiphany of Christ’s Baptism helps us reflect all the way back to the waters of the Flood.

Sunday January 5, 2020 – (Matthew 2:1-12) – The point of the Three King’s has nothing to do with their three-ness, their kingly-ness, or their Orient-ation. The point is…they’re not Jews.

Sunday December 8, 2019 – (Isaiah 11:1-10) – “Jack, you were not born into a world of peace. That’s why today, on your baptism day, you are being given a weapon.”
