John 1:16: “From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”
We reflect on the truth that the grace that Jesus shows his people is matched only by the magnitude of his glory. And because the glory of Christ is inexhaustible, so is his grace toward us. John reminds us that we are receiving grace that flows continually from the fullness of Christ himself, fresh grace for today, and grace still to come. This is a steady and hopeful word: whatever this year brings, Christ’s grace will not run out.
