We learn three important things about Jesus Christ in Hebrews 1:2. God speaking to us through His Son is the first thing. We’ll look now at the second and third.

We’ve been looking at the “timing” of Christ’s return and now turn to “relationships” and their impact on His return.

As we continue looking at the Post-Tribulation view of the Rapture, we are studying about God’s elect. 

People around the world are calling for justice. What does that mean? Is it something humans can accomplish or is that just a pipe dream?

How can God be merciful and gracious, yet demand the death of a person who murders another person? How can God be longsuffering and abound in goodness and truth, yet demand the death of a person who commits adultery? Can God be both merciful and just?

The claim that Jesus would not support the death penalty if He were on earth is not true. That then raises another question about God’s mercy. In light of the death penalty God commanded and Jesus supports, what part does God mercy play when it comes to the death penalty?

Many Christians point to the New Testament and claim that Jesus would not support the death penalty if He were on earth today. Since that’s a truth claim, let’s ask the obvious question: is that true? Would Jesus oppose the death penalty if He were on earth? Let’s look to the New Testament to see.
