Pride IS THE FOUNDATIONAL VICE 8. Pride USURPS GOD 9. Get real with our own pride 10. Get real with pride's deceptions 11. Get real with our daily need 12. To You, the one and only King, How prone my heart is to want to be noticed. I find this irony—that I come to You in complete desperation, only to pray that You remove the things that drive me to my knees. I pray for health and wealth, position and happiness, and success. And when, by Your grace, they come, I gradually lose my grip on Your hand. Life becomes less centered—more focused upon me than You. Your blessings have made me satisfied, comfortable—and sadly—self-sufficient. I am inclined to cross lines, encroach in areas that belong to others. Worst of all—I seize the credit for what I have, what I have become. So here I am—to repent—to turn from this PRIDE. I am here, in my brokenness, in my helplessness—to say—and forever say--APART FROM YOU, I CAN DO NOTHING. -Amen
