This story unpacks some of the ways Jesus addresses our fears and doubts when the picture doesn’t exactly turn out like you thought it would.

We pick up the disciples on a walk, Jesus has been murdered and buried…this isn’t the picture they expected or wanted! They are so caught up in God not acting on their ideals that when Jesus shows up they can’t see him

We’ve all had experiences like this - the death of a dream, end of a relationship, death of a loved one… What to you do in the midst of circumstances like these?

We’ve been focusing on applications to community as we make our way through the last hours of Jesus’ life … community can be both good and bad, often at the same time, as we have here. How can we learn to be people of courage?

Lean in. Look around. Let your life speak.

Today our current Lead Pastor, Jeff Adams, and next Lead Pastor, Tim Dunn, will share the stage as we introduce our congregation to Tim.

What are you going to do with Jesus? Either Jesus is Lord, or he’s not. That is the question every man, woman, and child must answer for themselves.

You NEED a community that is a safe place, not safe to hide, but safe to share your heart, to look into the mirror, to be honest, transparent and not hold back … all in order to facilitate transformational growth.

Two events are seen in our passage this morning:

1) Jesus takes his disciples to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane and 2) Jesus is arrested by the Temple Guards.

BOTH are related and our focus of application this morning is on prayer

In a Christ-centered community, it’s not a competition. We do not step on and over each other to reach the top. Instead, we serve each other and prioritize the needs of others ahead of our own. We place ourselves under our brothers and sister and we lift each other up.
