A particularly poignant thing Sirad said: “But I also still feel a lot of like sadness and, just like bewilderment that my freshman year started with the inauguration of Trump, and it's ending with this entire public health crisis. So like, my entire college experience is like, sandwiched between these two big events in American history.”
In this episode we talk about her academic study, being the first Somali, Muslim woman, to my knowledge, to grace Jeopardy, the funny banter that took place between her and Alex Trebek, what it was like being visibly Muslim at Princeton, her favorite and not-so-favorite courses, and a little more.
