The San Diego Padres reportedly offered star third baseman Manny Machado an extra 5-year, $150 million to his contract which would have totaled to an extra 10 years, $255 million rather than the remaining 5-year, $150 million if opting in. This was an embarrassment for the organization that lowballed Machado before Spring Training goes underway. However, that does not mean he will be in a Mets uniform or a Yankees uniform or anything like that.
