There are two dangers facing the church today: forgetting who we are, and not keeping up with cultural changes in society. In Acts we see how first century followers of Jesus lived as transformational people and how that impacted the community around them. In Acts chapter 2 we see followers of Jesus being filled with the Holy Spirit and two types of hearts reacting. One heart is filled with unbelief, cynicism and self-reliance. In Acts 1 verses 12 to 26, Luke documented how Jesus' disciples faced Him returning to heaven and the reality of their friend Judas' betrayal. For days they prayed and sought the guidance of Scripture, and they discovered Scriptures that foretold of this betrayal and how they were to respond. Today, when life brings us challenging situations that are disheartening and confusing, how should we respond? Listen was we walk through this piece of history and discover how to wait.

The Book of Acts doesn't really end. It is as though Luke closed the chapter to the part of a story he witnessed, researched, and wrote, but the story continued for two thousand years. Today, the story of the church is still being written and you are part of it.

The Book of Acts not only offers us an account of the first Christian church, it demonstrates that God writes redemptive stories. Listen as we walk through the Book of Acts, verse by verse, and discover the story God is writing for you.

In John 12, we read about a woman demonstrating extravagant giving by pouring perfume onto Jesus' feet, perfume so expensive it was worth a year's wages. Does a part of you revolt against her actions? Listen as we look at what the enemy of generosity is, what defines extravagant giving, and learn what the three levels of giving are.
