Some of the best adventures can be found in our own backyards! Here’s one that’s best tucked away for later use when travel is OK. We took our home on the road in the Mt. Hood National Forest and found an easy to reach campground at Timothy Lake.

The Owyhee River Country is often called Oregon’s Grand Canyon. My adventure of a lifetime revealed a sprawling area, unmatched for its gigantic spectacles along a secluded and pristine river where the the sound of water rushing through boulder-strewn rapids stirred my senses and satisfied my soul.
