God is not a tempter, but He leads us by His Spirit to where we should go. He delivers us from the snares of the enemy when we are willing to listen and follow His leadership. God is our best defense.

We are learning about the privilege of prayer i.e. dialoging with our Heavenly Father. We will also discover that forgiveness is a gift from Him to us to give to others, and His daily provision is assured to us, His children.

A grateful heart should be a part of a believer's everyday life and not just for Thanksgiving. May these heartfelt scriptures prick our hearts and impact us in such a way that we can truly understand what it means to be thankful.

Give thanks to the Holy One always!

Matther 6: 10 - ...your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. God's spiritual reign begins in the life of every believer once we accept His gift of salvation and receive Him as our Lord and Savior.

God's will must be what is most important and supersede all else. If Jesus was willing to forgo His will for that of the Father and go to the cross for us, should we do any less for Him? He deserves our all!

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 6:9 to teach them how to pray. In the first line of this prayer, we learn that for those who have a personal relationship with God, we can address Him as our Father.

If we don't have a relationship with Him, we can have one by confessing that Jesus is our Lord and Savior.

Next, we reverence, respect and honor His name as holy. Recognizing God's holiness sets Him apart from us and humbles us. As our Father, He brings with Him by way of His Spirit wonderful and precious benefits of the new covenant He ratified with the shedding of His own blood. God never comes to us empty-handed!

In Luke 11:1 a disciple of Jesus asked him to teach them to pray. Out of all that they saw Jesus do, they wanted to pray like Him. This episode will share various instances of Jesus praying: in solitary places, with or near the disciples, early morning or all through the night. Jesus is our model to pray in all seasons, in all situations throughout all our days.

Prayer connects us to our Heavenly Father for each day. He comforts us, listens to us, and prepares us for all that life confronts us with. Even when we may not feel Him, He is always near to us. HE LIVES IN HIS CHILDREN BY HIS SPIRIT. God's voice may sound faint because of all the clamor of the world, but not to worry. He is here and cannot forget us.

Prayer is our heartfelt response to God, our Father, as He continuously speaks of Himself through His revealed Word. The Holy Spirit teaches and gives us insight about Himself and we respond in prayer to our loving Father who is always near and ever present!🙏🏽

God's voice can best be heard in the solitude that we set aside time to listen for Him with. All of our lives are filled with responsibilities. However, we must make take for Him! As we develop our moments with Him through the reading of His Word - learning about His ways- we will find that during the busy moments of life our hearing will be better attuned to hear when He speaks. His voice can override all other sounds of life, as we spend the time with our Good Shepherd. He is waiting for us to listen...

We have the most unique privilege of listening to God speak to us through His Word and then responding to Him in prayer. This lesson will lay the foundation for this all -important step of taking one's time to read God's Word with the intention of encountering Him. Spending time with Him in this way gives us just what we need to respond back to Him, and that is called prayer!
