Intro music: “Back To Us” by Jeremy Passion featuring Julissa Leilani
Hi friends 👋🏽
Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
I hope this season brings you so much joy and gratitude.
Truly, gratitude creates new paradigms in us to be more present in our lives.
It helps us access a sense of wealth that even billionaires have trouble accessing. I know, I’ve worked with them.
When I’m authentically grateful, I’m no longer in a feeling of want.
The idea of “more” being my path to freedom ceases to have its power.
I become super aware of the abundance in my life.

Scientific research supports various health benefits of gratitude practice:
* Improved Mental Health: A study involving 300 adults, mostly college students seeking mental health counseling, found that those who wrote gratitude letters reported significantly better mental health compared to those who wrote about negative experiences or received only counseling. This benefit was evident four and twelve weeks after the writing exercise, suggesting that gratitude writing is beneficial for those with mental health concerns, even when brief.
* Shift from Toxic Emotions: Gratitude writing was observed to shift attention away from toxic emotions like resentment and envy. Participants in the gratitude group used fewer negative emotion words in their writing, which correlated with better mental health outcomes. This implies that the act of expressing gratitude can alter focus and perspective in a positive way.
* Benefits Even Without Sharing: Participants in gratitude studies who wrote letters of gratitude but did not send them still experienced mental health benefits. This indicates that the act of writing and reflecting on gratitude is beneficial, regardless of sharing those thoughts with others.
* Gradual Benefits Over Time: The mental health benefits of gratitude writing in the study did not emerge immediately but developed over time. Participants in the gratitude group reported better mental health four weeks after the writing activities, with further improvement after 12 weeks. This suggests a cumulative effect of gratitude practice over time.
* Lasting Effects on the Brain: Neuroimaging studies, such as those using fMRI, showed that individuals who practiced gratitude had distinct brain activity, especially in the medial prefrontal cortex. This area is associated with learning and decision-making. The effects were still observable three months after the gratitude practice began, suggesting that expressing gratitude may have lasting effects on the brain and improve sensitivity to gratitude experiences.

As you listen, may you begin to notice the abundance in your life.
May you have courage to face what you’re avoiding.
May you find aliveness on the other side.
With love,
Jomar
