People often ask me how did I get the idea to put my work into my book “Goddess with Many Faces”. 

The truth is, I didn’t. 

I have been researching, working and teaching about subconscious mind, archetypes, the wisdom of the goddess myths, and how to find your personal myth as a way of coaching and empowering people. It was, however, not in my conscious mind to put everything together into a book, but the universe has a plan to lead me into doing it.  

Back in December 2015, I went to visit the Perfect Potion store in QVB Sydney around Christmas time. By chance, I got into a conversation with the founder Salvatore Battaglia in the store. Little did I know eventually he would be the person who encourages me to write this book and help me to distribute it too. I am of course deeply grateful to all his help and inspiration.  

Being Authentic

I am very fortunate to have Sal like a mentor with my work, and I am also an enthusiast in aromatherapy and a healthy lifestyle, so we certainly have a lot of talk about! That was exactly how our conversation started, about rare essential oils. But here is the thing, if I’ve tried to strike up a conversation back in 2015 purely for business interest, it would have never worked. It is impossible to form a genuine relationship with anyone if one is constantly thinking, “What is in it for me?” or “How is this person or company can help me with ___?”. 

So often when you talk to someone at a networking or business event, you can feel those lines running through their mind, or in fact, their eyes, as they are constantly scanning across the room to see if there is anyone else more important to talk to. Everything becomes so transactional, instead of relational. 

On the other hand, when a person got hired it is not always because the person who has the best CV or when business got contracted it is merely because of the price. It is, in fact, the feeling about the person or the relationship established that makes us decide who do we want to work with.

From a spiritual perspective, all minds are joined, there is no place where you stop and I start. When you are being authentic, people can feel it. When you are fully present to someone and genuinely interested in a conversation, people know it too.

I believe this is what Oprah said on many occasions. And I truly believe this is true.

Recently I presented at two events, both hosted by Perfect Potion. I had a great time speaking and it was such an honour to teach one of the events with Sal, who has been in his industry for 30 plus years. I certainly have a lot to learn. I am also really grateful for the warm, open and engaged audience! 

I have another example of how gratitude works in magical ways. A few years back, I co-founded and co-hosted the LightenUp Online Summit with Deborah Shepherd, the founder of the wonderful Embrace Life Festivals. Before that, we worked on a collaborative movement called Gratitude, which is another example of how good things came together.
