In week one of our series on worship, we through the scriptures to find out what exactly is worship. Everything that had been made was made by Him and for Him. All things and all people are made to worship. The question is, what is getting our worship?

Worship is to bow.

Worship is to sacrifice.

Worship is to adore.

In todays message, we discuss the two sacraments that we celebrate as a church - communion and water baptism. Sacraments are sacred moments, encounters with God. Communion is an invitation from God to see Jesus dead, risen, and coming again. It is an invitation to receive Christ and proclaim Christ. It is an invitation to renew the vows we made to Christ by remembering our salvation.

Water baptism is sign of our cleansing. It is a symbol of dying to self and raising to a new life with Christ. It is a public declaration of our commitment to Christ. It is the beginning of a life of more with God.

Those who receive freedom in Christ are able to sustain it by giving it away.

In this message from Luke 8, we see Jesus deliver a man held captive, teach him, and then send him to tell his community about it. In the message we point out:

1. He was bound over and over again.

2. He was isolated.

3. The demons recognized and feared Jesus.

4. Jesus was not afraid of his issues.

5. He became a disciple of Jesus.

6. Jesus trusted him to tell the whole region about it.

Sustaining new life in Christ takes work. If we want to grow in our intimacy with Jesus, it will take intentionality and discipline to want to grow. A healthy apple tree doesn’t strain to produce fruit. Fruit is a by-product from the daily nourishment it receives. So is the same with our spiritual life.

More information about Jesus or the Bible does not save you, you must be born again through the water and the Spirit. In this message, we peer into the conversation Jesus has with Nicodemus in John 3. We discuss what it means to be born again, to be transformed by the Gospel.

In the final message in our I AM series, Jesus makes the claim that He is the true vine which is the source of life. His Father is the Gardner, and we are the branches. As the branches, we are simply to remain in Him so that we produce fruit.

1. Jesus is the only way to eternal life in heaven.

2. Jesus is the truth that leads to freedom. 

3. There is no life apart from Jesus. 

What areas of your life do you need freedom?

Jesus is the author of life and has power over death.

His resurrection power is at work today in the hearts of those who believe in him. Do you believe this? Do you live this? What we believe about Jesus impacts the way that we live our lives. What we believe about Jesus impacts the way that we handle grief.

Four things to do when grief comes:

1. Spend time in silent reflection upon God and His will.

2. Humbly repent that His ways are better.

3. Have self-control in the face of adversity.

4. Have confident patience knowing that He works all things for the good of those who love Him.

Jesus is the great I AM, and He is all that we need. Jesus is the Gate and the Good Shepherd. Because He is the gate, he is the way to salvation, finding pasture, having abundant life and knowing His voice. Because He is the Good Shepherd, He cares for us, He leads - not drives, and He knows you.

What you believe about Jesus impacts the way that you live your life.

Jesus is the great I AM, and He is all that we need. Jesus is the light of the world. The Light of the world is conquering the darkness one believer at a time. He is conquering the darkness in you, delivering you to the light. He then, makes you the light of the world to continue bringing people into the light, into eternal life.
