Sacraments: Introducing the Series on the Catechesis on the Sacraments by Fr  George Mary Claret

The Sacraments are necessary for salvation.

The Church and the Sacraments cannot be separated.

The Salvation History and the Sacraments cannot be separated.

Jesus and the Sacraments cannot be separated.

And so also a Christian and the Sacraments, specifically a Catholic and the Sacraments cannot be separated.

If separated none of them would survive.

That is the importance of the Sacraments.

But today very specially at this time of history when the world is facing the pandemic most of us are deprived of the Sacraments.

काथलिक संस्कार (Sacraments): Introducing the Series in Hindi by Fr. George Mary Claret

संस्कार ख्रीस्त के ईश्वर से “आने वाली शक्तियाँ” हैं, जो  सदैव जीवित एवं जीवनदायी है। ये ख्रीस्त के शरीर अर्थात् कलीसिया में, पवित्र आत्मा के कार्य हैं। ये नये और अनन्त विधान में “ईश्वर के सर्वश्रेष्ठ कार्य” हैं। (CCC: 1116)

हमारा मुक्ति इतिहास कुछ और नहीं बल्कि वह इतिहास है जिसके अनुसार ईश्वर हमारे बीच आये। ईश्वर का यह कदम, एकमात्र मध्यस्थ येसु ख्रीस्त के मुक्ति कार्य द्वारा, उसके और हम मनुष्यों के बीच की खाई को भरने के लिए था। ईश्वर मुक्ति का यह कार्य ख्रीस्त के कलीसिया के माध्यम से अपनी कृपायें प्रदान करते हैं। यह कृपायें हमें चिन्हों के माध्यम से प्राप्त होती हैं जिसे ख्रीस्त ने कलीसिया को प्रदान किया है। अतः संस्कार कलीसिया “के द्वारा” और कलीसिया “के लिए” हैं। कलीसिया “के द्वारा” क्योंकि यहीं ख्रीस्त, पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा अपने कार्य करते हैं। कलीसिया “के लिए” क्योंकि ये संस्कार कलीसिया का बनाते हैं। (CCC: 1118)

She connects the Old Testament and the New.

She is the first creature in the New Creation.

The importance of the Blessed Virgin Mary cannot be overlooked. She is an integral part of our relationship with God. God is the Community or Family of the Three Divine Persons. 

God didn't send His Son just like that, but as a Son, the Son of the Blessed Virgin Mary. God concretely loved the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Person of Jesus Christ. St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe said, "Never be afraid of loving Mary too much. You can never love her more than Jesus did."   

The Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, is our Mother. Jesus, dying on the Cross, gave her to be our Mother.  

To know the importance of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Christian Life, we need to understand the concepts of: 

1) Christian 

2) Church  

Without the context, we cannot really realize the importance of a person or a thing, etc.  Having understood the context, one is in a position to understand the importance of the Blessed Virgin Mary in one's journey of Christian Life.  

Jesus gave His loving Mother to the Disciple whom He loved. Does Jesus love YOU enough and trust YOU enough to give His Mother to YOU?  Without Mary, one cannot get to Her Son, Jesus Christ!  If you want to go to Jesus, take the Blessed Virgin Mary along with you.

माँ मरियम के बिना ख्रिस्तीय अनाथ हो जाते हैं। क्या आपके पास ईश्वर की माँ है?

येसु अपनी माँ को इसलिए दिए, क्योंकि ईश्वर चाहते हैं कि हम सभी "उनके पुत्र के प्रतिरूप बनाये जायेंगे" (रोमि. 8:20)।

The Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, is our Mother. Jesus, dying on the Cross, gave her to be our Mother.

To know the importance of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Christian Life, we need to understand the concepts of:

St. Monica, the Ideal Mother and the Patron of Mothers

Let's learn from St. Monica how she helped her son, Mr. Augustine to become SAINT Augustine.

God calls everyone to become holy.

Road to Holiness is a lifelong journey.

Mothers play an inevitable role in this Journey.

The Patron (Patroness) of Mothers, St. Monica is an example of it.

St. Augustine, her son, was a pagan.

She wanted to bring him to God by all means.

Making him a Christian was her only aim of life.

It was not easy.

It costed her a lot and took almost 18 long tearful years.

She never got discouraged.

She always trusted God.

She teaches and challenges us, especially Mothers, to be aware of the great responsibility to make their children SAINTS, in other words HOLY.

Definitely, it's God Who makes us holy.

But, He doesn't do it without our cooperation.

The role Mothers play is irreplaceable.

Let's learn from St. Monica and make "becoming holy (SAINTS)" the purpose of our life.

May God help us in this Journey 🙏
