The Blessed Virgin Mary, the New Eve

There are so many reasons why the Blessed Virgin Mary is called the New Eve. Some of the major reasons are as follows:

In the Salvation History, Eve and the Blessed Virgin Mary played very irreplaceable roles.

Eve was "the mother of all living" (Genesis 3:20), who inherited death from their mother.

The Blessed Virgin Mary is the New Eve, the Mother of all those who are saved in Jesus Christ.

"Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home" (John 19:25-27).

Jesus addressed His Mother "Woman" on two occasions - one at the beginning of HIs Mission as changed water into wine (cf. John 2:1ff) and at the culmination of His Mission at Calvary.

The Most Holy Trinity is the central Mystery of the Church; all the other Mysteries have this for their source (origin) and summit (end). God is eternal, infinite, unchangeable, incomprehensible, almighty, and ineffable. The Three Divine Persons of the Most Holy Trinity, are, though, distinctively different, are inseparably united. The Most Holy Trinity is so inseparably united that the identity of the Most Holy Trinity is ONE.

One in Three – One God in Three Persons

Three in One – 3 Persons in One God

“God only can grant us a true and perfect knowledge of himself, revealing himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in whose eternal life we are called by grace to share here on earth in the obscurity of faith and after death in everlasting light.” (Pope Paul Vi, Solemni hac liturgia, 30 June, 1968, Post-Conciliar Documents, Vatican II).

Divine Revelation is essential to know God. We cannot know God as He IS without His help – revelation.

Even we cannot know human beings. Life partners too cannot know each other without the revelation of the other.

From the first page onwards, God begins revealing Himself as Triune – a communion of Three Divine Persons when He said, “Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and overall the creatures that move along the ground” (Genesis 1:26).

There is a gradual development in the revelation of this great Mystery, rather the greatest Mystery. The coming of the Son of God, the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, in the world shows a significant shift in the revelation as one of the Three Divine Persons came in person, denoting the DIRECT revelation.
