What made Lincoln's hat stand up? Did Chairman Mao keep a Little Black Book? Lynda Schor's "Seduction" follows Warren Beatty on his tireless erotic journey, with characters like Joan Collins and Joyce Carol Oates chiming in on his legendary prowess. In "The Ballad of Scott and Zelda," Maxim Jakubowski traces the passion and the slow, bitter disconnection of those idols of the Jazz Age. "Love, Zora," by Fiona Zedde, is a graceful, poetic evocation of a young woman's affair with Zora Neale Hurston. Editor Mitzi Szereto brings together a playful and varied collection, not only gratifying our curiosity about acknowledged sex symbols like Marilyn Monroe and Rudolph Valentino, but exciting readers with the imaginary adventures of such unlikely figures as Toulouse Lautrec, Sigmund Freud, and God.
Members Reviews:
I love this narrator but this is not my cup of tea
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No.... It's not one of the best stories I heard but the narrator is wonderful.
Would you be willing to try another book from Mitzi Szereto? Why or why not?
I don't know
What does Michael Lesley bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
His voice is so wonderful and he is so versatile I can hear he difference on each characters he plays, exellent narration
Do you think Wicked needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No it's one of a kind .
Any additional comments?
Not bad for wha it is but not one I will keep on listening for ever .
TRUE; Women are turned on by words
Would you consider the audio edition of Wicked to be better than the print version?
I did not read the print version of this book, I only listened to the audio. The narrator is amazing, he performs both men and women voices very well.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The first chapter is about Elvis, who wants to hide himself from the general public, so he dresses as a Hassic Jew, but a woman who meets in a diner recognizes him and they begin an affair. I love these characters the most because I came with the most background knowledge of Elvis, so I really got into the character thinking what this really would have been like.
Which character as performed by Michael Lesley was your favorite?
All women characters. He ever so gently changes his pitch so you can differentiate between characters. He is so smooth in the transition, he does a great job!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I loved this book. I laughed out loud, got turned-on, and relived history all at the same time!
Any additional comments?
Even if you do not read erotica all the time, but are looking for something different and need a little "spark" in your reading, this is a great book to download!
