At a recent CPAC event, James Taylor, The Heartland Institute's president, co-chaired a panel with CFACT discussing the documentary "Climate Hustle." James took on the hustle where people calling themselves conservatives are pushing a supposedly revenue neutral carbon dioxide tax as a conservative policy. The problem is, any carbon dioxide tax set high enough to cut fossil fuel use will produce no revenue to be returned to energy users. Energy prices will rise for people and businesses, thousands will lose their jobs, and there will be no revenue to return to the people. Expanding government and increasing taxes and energy prices are not conservative policies regardless of who is pushing them.
