Lyft ($LYFT) and Motional have announced the launch of the partnership’s new all-electric IONIQ 5-based robotaxi, an autonomous vehicle designed for fully driverless ride-hailing operations in Las Vegas.The companies say that the launch is the next milestone in a lead-up to fully driverless service, with plans to roll out in 2023 and scale to multiple U.S. cities.

Motional and Lyft have been conducting autonomous rides in Las Vegas since 2018 and says that riders will now be among the first to experience Motional's new AV, which has a custom-designed user experience for a fully autonomous journey.

Fluence Energy has announced a contract with Cubico Sustainable Investments to optimize the performance of its 350 MW Solem I and II solar plants in El Llano, Mexico, using Fluence’s Nispera asset performance management software.

Fluence’s Nispera APM software integrates asset data with intelligent machine learning models and visualization tools to help solar and wind plant owners uncover hidden performance issues, minimize downtime, and maximize energy production. Nispera will optimize operations and maintenance of the Solem I and II solar plants, which represent one of the largest solar projects in Latin America.

Tritium DCFC has announced the opening of its new electric vehicle fast charger manufacturing facility located in Tennessee. The new plant is expected to employ more than 500 people over the next five years.

Tritium’s Tennessee facility will initially produce the company’s award-winning RTM fast charger. The company also expects to start production on the PKM150 early next year. These advanced DC fast chargers are compatible with all electric vehicles while being compact, reliable, and cost effective.

REE Automotive has debuted its new P7-B, a class 3 box truck built on a P7 cab chassis. Archer Aviation has received a $10 million pre-delivery payment from United Airlines for 100 of the company’s electric vehicle takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircrafts. The company says that the payment bolsters confidence in the commercialization of eVTOL aircrafts as well as Archer’s ability and leadership skills. Archer recently completed its production aircraft’s Preliminary Design Review and is now advancing to the next stage of its development and commercialization efforts.

The pre-delivery cash deposit continues a trend of strong support by the airline throughout development of Archer’s aircraft. United Airlines recently formed a Joint Advisory Committee with Archer, allowing both parties to work more closely on electric vehicle take off and landing  maintenance and operational matters. Committee members include Archer’s operations and maintenance leadership, as well as leadership from United’s maintenance, materials, and engineering groups.

Joby Aviation has announced an expansion to its existing contract with the U.S. Air Force’s Agility Prime program that increases the contract’s potential value by more than $45 million. Aerojet Rocketdyne has opened a new facility in Camden, Arkansas to integrate its solid rocket motor manufacturing activities, which the company says will improve operational efficiency, increase production capacity, and reduce costs.

The new 51,000 square foot building consolidates the company’s multiple manufacturing activities under one roof and adds advanced equipment, including modern tool-up bays, dedicated propellant casting and oven areas, with upgraded X-ray systems. Aerojet says that the facility will reduce transport needs during the manufacturing process by more than 90%.
