Canadian Solar has announced that it has completed the sale of two fully-permitted solar and battery energy storage projects in the UK to specialist alternative asset manager, Gresham House. The two projects comprise a collocated solar and battery energy storage project in Durham, with 50 MWp solar capacity and 38 MW of battery energy storage, and a standalone solar project in Warwickshire of 28 MWp.

Both projects are fully permitted and construction-ready. Canadian Solar will continue to be involved in the projects, being responsible for the long-term operations and maintenance activities. The projects are entirely subsidy-free, consistent with Canadian Solar's long pipeline of UK opportunities under development.

Naas Technology has signed an agreement with Navlnfo’s subsidiary, Ohways, where both parties will integrate their abundant resources and strong capabilities in smart EV mobility and charging services, to jointly provide auto OEMs and EV owners with smart digital power solutions and an industry-leading charging experience. First Solar has announced that it will supply Solarvest Holdings, a clean energy specialist and turnkey engineering service provider in southeast Asia, with 93 megawatts of advanced thin film photovoltaic solar panels.

The panels will power four projects being built as part of Malaysia’s Large Scale Solar Program. Solarvest will utilize Series 6 modules for projects located in the Malaysian states of Selangor, Perak, and Kedah.

Building on strong demand for its new electric vehicles, Ford has announced a series of initiatives for sourcing battery capacity and raw materials that will provide a clear path to reach its targeted annual run rate of 600,000 electric vehicles by late 2023 and more than two million by the end of 2026.

The company detailed its global vehicle portfolio plans supporting these production goals as part of its Ford+ plan. Ford expects a compound annual growth rate for EVs to exceed 90% through 2026, more than double forecasted global industry growth.

Ford plans to invest over $50 billion in EVs through 2026 and is building on agreements tied to its 600,000 run rate milestone. The company now has sourced approximately 70% of the battery cell capacity it needs to support an annual global run rate of more than two million EVs by late 2026.

Lilium has signed an agreement with Helity Copter Airlines to develop an all-electric vertical take-off and landing jet network in southern Spain. Helity has agreed to purchase five Lilium Jets initially in order to provide premium and business charter flights to its customers.

With approximately 300,000 passengers transported between Ceuta and the Spanish peninsula to date, Helity provides a critical transportation service to its customers and the region. The Lilium Jet, with its premium cabin, expected physical range of 250 km, and anticipated performance capabilities in various weather conditions, is well suited to meet the transportation needs of the region. Planet Labs, a leading provider of global satellite imagery data and insights, has announced completion of a pilot program with Organic Valley, a national organic food brand and independent cooperative of small family farms.

The pilot program utilized satellite technology to measure pasture health on dairy farms. By using Planet’s near-daily satellite images, farmers now have access to reports that will improve their use of pastures and herd nutrition. The program started with 20 farms and after successful implementation, Planet’s satellite insights are now being extended to approximately 100 Organic Valley farms. After further proof of scale, the program will be offered to the entire Organic Valley membership.

During the pilot program Organic Valley worked directly with Planet Lab’s Professional Services team to develop a comprehensive tool that uses the company’s Data and Orders APIs to select and order farm-level satellite imagery.
