Timelapse taken "overnight" but through the polar day in May 2025. It shows 24 hours of change in the sea ice and the movement of icebergs out in the bay. As the weather comes piling over the mountains on the other side of the fjord, scientists put out instruments to measure the changing light. This was taken through the kitchen window at the DMI geophysical facility in Qaanaaq in NW Greenland. I added the animation of satellite images to try and relate what we see from the sky with how it looks on the ground. It's not always easy to interpret either one.
