The Grenfell Tower fire claimed the lives of seventy two innocent victims and a public inquiry was set in to identify the issues that led to the tragedy. Phase One of the Inquiry report was published on 30 October. StreetMic went onto the streets around Grenfell Tower to obtain local reactions from those who were involved in the tragedy, or from those who witnessed the events.

Many local residents, and a worker, were happy to tell StreetMic their personal story about what they saw, heard and how they and the local community have been affected by the fire. They also gave their opinions on the one thousand paged Inquiry report that was published.

Please note a telephone call that was made to LBC Radio after the fire has been featured in this Podcast. You will hear from a caller whose mum and aunt perished in the fire. The caller describes the last breath of his mother.
