On this week’s episode we speak to Kristine Andali, an athlete from the DC Brawlers who suffered a full Achilles tendon rupture between the Reebok CrossFit Games Open and the Games Regionals. Find out how she recovers quickly to get back at what she loves doing the most.
Last year Andali was a part of the Philly Founders, but as all of the players became free agents this year, she was signed on to the DC Brawlers. She talks about the communication differences between both organizations and said that it’s a “night and day” difference.
Andali takes us through the painful ordeal of her injury, surgery, and recovery. However, having a positive mind and a positive outlook is extremely helpful in the recovery. She also uses a “Stem” machine to aid the recovery and has already begun to backsquat, deadlift, etc. The point is this…if and when you are injured, don’t concentrate on what you can’t do, but instead concentrate on what you CAN do and celebrate those victories.
