Today's episode starts with a serious discussion of the Black 14, a group of African American players at the University of Wyoming that were kicked off the football team for protesting racial injustice. This year is the 50th Anniversary of the events and the university honored their sacrifice this past weekend. Tim and Cullen discuss the incident and the general role athletes can play in social justice.
Then the guys dive into the topic of parity, or lack thereof, in college football. It's only week four but it already looks like the playoff contenders are down to 6-7 teams, is that bad for the sport? The episode ends with a breakdown of this week's monster games including Wisconsin-Michigan, Auburn-Texas A&M, and Notre Dame-Georgia.
LSU looked good, Michigan did not, and Clemson passed its only test of the season.
In this episode we hit all those topics and also have a lengthy discussion on the prominent role Christianity plays in the Clemson football program. Plus, this weeks games look weak as there are no matchups between ranked teams, but we're still placing a couple teams on upset alert. Enjoy!
It's an annual tradition…Happy Overreaction Week! Some teams looked great, and some teams fell flat on their face.
In this episode, Tim and Cullen are joined by Kevin Wells (avid LSU fan!) to remind you of the Ten College Football Commandments, overreact to week one, and break down the huge Texas vs. LSU game.
College football is back and so is Gridiron Gospel! In this episode we recap the big stories of the offseason, including all the transfer quarterbacks, and look forward to the biggest games of 2019. Plus, Tim and Cullen pick their Power 5 conference champs and predict the playoff teams. Will Tim pick Texas...probably. Will Cullen pick Ohio State...not so sure! Listen in and find out.
Just when it looked like we had things all figured out, Rivalry Week turned the CFB season on it's head! With the exception of Notre Dame, there are a lot of playoff related questions to answer on Conference Championship weekend. Is Alabama already in the playoff, win or lose? Can the Buckeyes make the playoff if Oklahoma beats Texas? In this episode, Tim and Cullen wade through the carnage, preview all of the Power 5 Conference Championship Games, then make their picks for the College Football Playoff final selection.
Another one bites the dust! Ohio State gets embarrassed by Purdue and drops from the ranks for unbeaten teams. What does this mean for the Buckeyes, the Big Ten, and the playoff race? Tim and Cullen analyze the fall out and then discuss the prospects for all of the one loss teams (Georgia, Michigan, LSU, Florida, Texas…) to make the playoffs. Further, the guys also debate the utility of the 'targeting' rules and make picks for the Week 9 games.
Week 7 was absolutely nuts! Four teams in the top 10 lost, and all the other top 10 teams that played (with the exception of 'Bama) struggled.
In this episode, Tim and Cullen sift through all of the carnage to try and make sense of the college football landscape after a wild week of upsets. They also do a deep dive on the Big Ten East (is Michigan State actually good?) and make picks for the biggest games of week 8.
Believe it or not, we're already halfway through the season! I know, we're sad too. In this week's episode Tim and Cullen discuss the biggest surprises of the season so far and make predictions about the future. Plus, are Texas and Notre Dame 'back'? We'll review their impressive wins and evaluate their potential to make the playoffs.
