According to Merriam Webster’s dictionary “Grief” is defined as “a deep sadness caused especially by someone’s death”. In my own personal journey of growth and self love I had to go through a period of sadness. Uprooting every pain, trauma, bad memory that I was holding onto caused me to go into a depression. Not understanding what exactly grief was, I thought that something was wrong with me, that I just couldn’t handle it. It wasn’t until I looked more into grief where I realized that grief doesn’t just take place after someone’s death. But that their are many things in our life that happen and occur where something is taken from us, we lose something. A relationship might run its course. However , it all comes down to how you grieve. Grief is a gateway towards healing. Allowing yourself to feel the emotions. The more you feel, the more you heal.
