The Ebb & Flow

Grief Series Episode 3: Grieving The Old Me

Listen Later

Sometimes grief isn’t about losing another person — sometimes it’s about losing the version of yourself that existed before the pain, the survival mode, the relationship, the disappointment, or the weight of life changed you.

In this episode of The Ebb and Flow, we’re talking about the quiet grief of no longer recognizing yourself, the ache of outgrowing old versions of you, and how God meets you in the in-between of who you were and who you’re becoming.

This conversation is for anyone who has ever asked, “What happened to me?” and is learning to ask a better question: “Who am I becoming?”

Reflections Question:

• Who was I before survival mode?

• What parts of me have gone quiet?

• What am I ready to stop carrying?

• Who am I becoming in this season?

Affirmations:

• I am not lost — I am becoming.

• I am allowed to grieve who I used to be.

• I release the pressure to stay the same.

• God is with me in the in-between.

• I am still worthy, even as I change.

• I trust that healing is making room for something new.

• I honor my past, but I do not have to live there.

• There is still beauty in who I am now.
