Joseph remained faithful even though the world around him spiraled into chaos. The woman he is engaged to is pregnant and he has to make a hard decision.  Being faithful often means going beyond what is “right” and following God’s path for our life.  Yet Joseph walks through the chaos and he is able to see and experience God’s blessings.

John the Baptist came to clear a path for the Messiah by offering a call to repentance. Throughout this sermon we'll learn that repentance is a gift, is needed for everyone, and when repentance is true, our  relationship with God and others is restored by the blood of Jesus.

We can anticipate and hope for Jesus’ return but it’s really easy to get distracted.  Busyness deceives us into thinking: that we'll always have enough time, that we'll always have time to get into shape spiritually, and causes us to pursue things that are insignificant.  As Christians we hope and anticipate the coming of Christ by being alert, ready, and putting Christ above all else.

Small things can make a huge difference for God’s kingdom.  We can learn to be people who are grateful rather than negative.  Each one of us should look to the future with hope and comfort because God is at work.
