    After a dominant win against Cal Poly in a snowstorm the GFP is back at it to discuss the game.  Finally, the Grizzlies ended their 3 game skid and got back to their winning ways shutting out The Mustangs.  Over the first portion of the pod, discussion covers how much this win was needed and the major takeaways from the game.  From there, we have plenty to talk about, looking around the conference and the FCS.  Afterwards, the discussion moves into the upcoming Eastern Washington game and there’s a quick look at some playoff scenarios.  Eventually, the pod closes out, as always, with fan questions!  Go Griz!

  • Griz Fan Podcast – Sending October into the sun, a new season starts now
    The month of October, for Grizzly fans, has been an ugly one.  Fresh off their 3rd loss in a row, the GFP is back at it to discuss the most recent loss.  Mike and Luke (with Kyle and James) were there in person for this game even.  What’s not working seems apparent, but where do the Griz go from here?  In this GFP we take some long and hard looks at the concerns surrounding this team.  Fortunately quite a bit is still in play for Montana and with the passing of this month it is time to look ahead.  With November starting the Griz have two home games in a row to right the ship.  The discussion moves to essentially the start of a new season, one with no margin for error.  The pod closes with fan comments and questions, as always!

  • Griz Fan Podcast – Learning and rebounding from a tough loss
    The Montana Grizzlies fell in OT on the road at #2 Sacramento State.  It was a game with many pivotal moments the sealed the outcome and we’re here to discuss it.  Despite the loss the Grizzlies looked far more like a top-tier team and that has the guys feeling optimistic looking ahead.  As we shift from the Sac loss to the Weber game there’s some scouting on what to expect there.  This week the pod was once again full of fan questions and we got to as many as possible!

  • Griz Fan Podcast – dissecting the Idaho loss and scouting Sacramento State with guest Kyle Hansen
    Buckle up for a marathon GFP as the guys welcome in KPAX’s Kyle Hansen for a full breakdown discussion of the Idaho loss.  The whole pod was powered by 4 Monster Energy drinks provided by Kyle.  In the opening 1:45 of the pod, chat is mostly dedicated to discussions on what went wrong and if/how it can be fixed.  The pod takes critical looks at the all of the aspects of the game. We also look at this loss and the broader meaning of it for the rest of the season.  From there discussion moves to around the conference.  We cover prior week quickly, and then we look ahead to this upcoming week.   
    Montana’s next game is on the road at Sacramento State, the top team in the conference.  We provide a little scouting info and a breakdown on what (and who) to look for.  The last 45 minutes or so are dedicated to fan questions and comments.  Most look back to the Idaho game, others ask for opinions on the rest of the season, one asks about The Olive Garden.  We cover it all – and then some!

  • Griz Fan Podcast – Bye week, Idaho, and guest Lucas Semb
    With Luke out on assignment, Mike and Brint have the new Missoulian beat reporter, Lucas Semb, in on the pod.  Lucas is just a few weeks on the job, recently married, and just moved over to Missoula from Pensacola.  Our chat starts with Lucas about his background, his experiences so far here, and some general Griz and Missoula topics.  There was no game to recap, so the guys move into discussion of results around the conference.   So far there’s been no real surprises yet in conference play, but now things are going to get a lot more difficult.  Many of the top teams play each other over the next 2-3 weeks. Which will really shape up the conference after that.  Then it’s time to scout Idaho. Discussion rolls with some great help from Lucas, we cover some things to expect and look for as the Griz play Idaho this weekend. The last segment is dedicated to all of the fan questions that rolled in.

    Brint, Colby, and Hot Take Nate join up to review last weeks 3 top games.  This episode covers the 2nd week of conference play.  The primary games discussed are Montana vs Idaho State, Montana State vs UC Davis, and Idaho vs Northern Colorado.  Enjoy some good analysis, fun banter, and bold predictions from the group as they discuss these games and more.  The show closes with each contributors selection of offense and defense MVP for the prior week.

  • Griz Fan Podcast – The Holt Arena is Haunted, a recap of the ISU win
    Montana is 5-0 and headed into their bye week after a 28-20 win vs Idaho State.  For the first time this year the Grizzlies struggled a little in a game where Montana was the heavy favorite.  And of course after a closer win, there’s plenty of discussion to be had.  The first near hour of the pod is a review of what went well… and what didn’t from the game. It was also a big week around the conference with plenty of matchups to review and preview for the week ahead.  The pod is loaded with great fan questions this week, that’s about the last full hour of the show!

  • Griz Fan Podcast – Luke is back and Brint deserves all the smoke. PSU recap and looking at ISU
    In his triumphant return to the GFP Luke opens up the pod and once again all seems right in the world.  The guys hop right into recapping the Grizzlies blowout win over Portland State.  In a day where some monumental records fell and all sorts of odd events occurred there was plenty to discuss.  Mike was also ready to pounce all over Brint’s prior opinions from last week’s pod as well. 
    From there the discussion moves to looking around the conference and recapping week 1 of broad conference play.  They then move to looking ahead to the next week, including Montana, who hits the road to play 0-4 Idaho State.  Brint gives highlights of his scouting report, who to look for, and what to expect.
    The final segment is fan questions.  Topics ranged from observations from last week’s game, upcoming trap games, player observations, and wild hypothetical situations.

    Montana has finished their out of conference schedule with a 3-0 record, as expected.  Fresh off a win against Indiana State, Mike and Brint with Kyle as a guest, go over their takeaways from the game.  Montana’s defense had a bit of early adversity but then bucked down, additionally the offense showed some excellent prowess in their passing game.  After the breakdown of the game the guys move on to looking around the conference.  There’s a quick recap and discussion on last week and then a look ahead to this week.  And then, it’s time to discuss Portland State and this weekend’s homecoming game.  There’s some discussion on who to look for and what to expect.  Also, they discuss PSU’s odd first month schedule and how that leads to some unknown about this game.  As always, the final segment of the pod are the fan questions.

    The 2022 season for the Montana Grizzlies is now well under way.  The Griz are 2-0 and we’ve got plenty to go over from their 24-7 win over South Dakota.  Once again the defense was incredible, dialing up heavy pressure and totally shutting down USD.  The offense had it’s ups and downs on the day and we get into that on this pod.  What are we liking so far from this team, and what needs improvement?
