The Grounded Guidance extended cast investigates the 130 year old St Ignatius Hospital in Colfax, WA to do a 3-hour paranormal investigation. A 5-story, 50,000 sq ft building, supposedly haunted, is claimed to be the 9th most haunted location in the US.

 St Ignatius hospital was built in 1893 by Mother Joseph Pariseau and the Sisters of Providence Charity. 

“When Mother Joseph arrived in the Washington Territory in 1856, she encountered a strange, new world of physical hardships, cultural and religious diversity, and rapid change. Under her leadership, more than 30 hospitals, schools and homes were opened for orphans, the elderly, and the sick in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and southern British Columbia.” ~providence.org

St Ignatius was the primary medical facility in the area supporting the rural communities of the Palouse for years. 

 Due to rising building costs, and needed updates to the building, the Sisters sold the building in 1968 as it transitioned to a home for the developmentally disabled.

The doors were officially shut in 2003 and the building was abandoned for almost 20 years. When the owner left, they turned off the heat but not the water and pipes froze, which left the building in an almost irreparable state.

Architecturally, it is thoughtfully designed and way beyond its time. The large windows are a testament to how much natural light played a role in healing.  Glimpses of beauty are buried beneath layers of peeling paint.  

Current owners Austin and Laura Storm are breathing new life into the restoration of this beautiful building.
