When we reflect on our own worth and value, as well as the worth and value of those around us, what metric are we using?

Abu Nadrah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said during the days after the pilgrimage, “O people, your Lord is one and your father (Adam) is one. Verily there is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, nor of a non-Arab over an Arab, nor of a red (white) person over a black person, nor black person over a red (white) person, except in terms of Taqwa (God consciousness). Have I conveyed the message?” They said, “The Messenger of Allah has conveyed the message.”
