This week we are starting a new series based on the Beatitudes; a section of a message Jesus delivered to his followers providing them with a picture or a sketch of someone who has been impacted by the transforming power of Jesus. By definition a Christian is someone who agrees with or relates to
the teachings of Jesus... it doesn’t say that they actually live them out or
put them into practice. The disciples that we read about in the bible... the
ones who followed Jesus closely during his time here on earth... they were
learning to live like Jesus... to love like Jesus... to treat people like Jesus
did. Essentially they apprenticed under him by putting into practice
everything that he taught them and every thing they watched him do. And
its people like that... people who apprentice under Jesus who have an
incredible opportunity to build bridges by following the example of Jesus
and reclaiming hospitality.

Delays ruin everything. They mess up our plans, they're always annoying, and we do everything we can to avoid them. But often a delay in our life can be an opportunity for God do do some significant work in us helping us grow in our trust of him.

In the book of Exodus we’re reminded of the fact that having the ability to come into God’s presence in prayer is actually an incredible opportunity, while also being given some practical wisdom for how we can grow in our ability to hear from God!

As our world begins to open up and our schedules begin to fill its a good time to pause for a reminder that we were made for rest and if we don't we could be forced to. Psalm 23 is a beautiful reminder of God's provision and care for us and his invitation to come and find rest.
