In the very near future, the trackability of your grain will become ever more important to the end consumer. The partnership between AMVC and Landus started organically three years ago and has resulted in a reliable product that farmers can contribute to and be rewarded for. In this episode of the GROW Podcast, Landus VP of External Affairs, Elizabeth Burns-Thompson hosts AMVC Swine Nutritionist, Trey Kellner for a ceremonial ribbon cutting of the AMVC feed mill in Hamlin, IA.
Highlights:
•AMVC Hamlin Corn Consumption (8,500,000 bushels) / Audubon Corn Production (20,550,000 bushels) = Representative amount of Audubon Corn Consumed by AMVC Feed Mill (approx. 41% of county corn crop)
•AMVC Hamlin Soy Meal Consumption (48,000 tons) X Amount of bushels per MT of meal (46.39 bushels) / Audubon Soy Production (5,2750,000 bushels) = Representative amount of Audubon Soy Consumed by AMVC Feed Mill (approx. 42% of county soy crop)
•Finished product can serve swine in an 80-mile radius (a million pigs annually)
•Complete and closed loop system between Landus farmer, Landus grain receiving capabilities, AMVC processing, and AMVC delivering.
Imagine that a farmer poured months into growing their crop. They spent the entire growing season running their numbers, conducting soil tests, scouting fields, and produced the best crop they’ve ever had. Out of nowhere, they have a heart attack and can’t harvest this season. Farming is one of the most physically demanding jobs in America. Unfortunately, illness and accidents can occur at unideal times.
Farm Rescue is an organization with over 600 volunteers on call to help a farm in the case of an accident like the one above. Landus GROW Grain Marketing Advisor, Ashley Kaldenberg hosts Farm Rescue’s Development Officer, Terry Johnston to talk about how Farm Rescue has been a literal life saver to farming operations across the United States.
Highlights:
•Farm Rescue is active in: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota
•They can dispatch volunteers to help plant, hay, or harvest their crop, and feed livestock.
•Their services are provided to any farmer who’s experienced a major illness, injury, or natural disaster.
•They come with their own equipment if necessary
•Services are free to the farmer If you, or someone you know, needs Farm Rescue Services, send in your information to their website https://farmrescue.org/

Join in on this circus of a spring with Landus Technical Agronomy and Precision Lead and your Virtual Agronomist, Dan Bjornklund; and Landus Regional Sales Manager and Agronomy Minute host, Scott Ahrenholtz.
Highlights:
•75% of nitrogen is used after V10

•Nitrogen stabilizers are crucial right now in these wet conditions
•UAN and Urea conversations should be had now with your Account Lead or the GROW Solutions Center
•A second fungicide application may be necessary
•AcreEdge CropPWR Technology is available and ready to be combined with your fungicides.

"To Plant, Or Not to Plant "
Ah, and that is the question. And that’s exactly why we put our two favorite agronomists in the same room (warehouse) to talk shop (agronomy) in this special early release of the GROW Podcast. Join Landus Technical Agronomy and Precision Lead, Dan Bjorklund and special guest, Landus Account Lead (and your 2024 Iowa Certified Crop Adviser of the Year), Dave Lemke in this special release, recorded in the Gowrie, IA seed warehouse.
Highlights:
•Are you planting over this weekend (04/12 – 04/14)?
•Hear the things these agronomists are looking forward to and things they’re weary about out for this planting season.
•There’s always a headline disease or insect in the growing year, and it could be a few things we haven’t seen in quite some time this year.
•Agility will be crucial in dealing with the unknown variables that will be dealing with weather, disease conditions, and such.
•The prescription from the virtual agronomist (Dan) is: apply AcreEdge CropLift early and often.

Think of the most intriguing questions in ag. Does it have to do with sustainability? Labor? Succession planning? The bad news is that these are just a few of the topics that farmers are asking themselves. The good news is that Landus is hosting farmers to its Des Moines Connector to answer these questions and so many more on April 3 & 4.
Brooke Blessington from LANDWERX hosts this special release of the GROW Podcast. Join Brooke Blessington, LANDWERX Innovation Hub Director, and three guests who are showing their technology, solutions, and (of course) innovation. If you could know what every individual plant needed to succeed, you’d likely take that information and provide appropriate nutrients and protections to those plants. Now imagine that you have an avian business partner that takes to the sky for an hour every other week, and scans for deficiencies and areas of improvement at the plant level. Your little bird can give you distinct data so you can, “make decisions based on fact rather than feeling.” Landus SkyScout powered by Taranis provides this exact situation to farmers... except your winged, feathered business partner is a qualified agronomy expert armed with the modern technology of drone sensors and lenses.
In this episode of the GROW Podcast, Landus Director of GROW Agronomy, John Finneseth, hosts Taranis Vice President of Customer Success, Pablo Bruzzoni; and Taranis Customer Success Representative, Corey Edge to talk about how SkyScout provides farmers with data gathered just a few feet in the air can break the boundaries of what we thought was possible for ag-data.
Highlights:
The cooperative model is based on doing for the farmer what they can’t do themselves. Although Landus has outgrown the mold of what traditional cooperative can do, we remain committed to representing farmer goals and values. One of the more underrepresented settings of farmers is none other than our state capital in Des Moines and Capitol Hill in D.C.
