Grow Your Business by Adding Vulnerability to Your Brand

Listen Later

A vulnerable person is one who is open and honest about his or her feelings, fears, and weaknesses. Despite feeling exposed and at risk, people are really captivated by your ability to demonstrate such vulnerability. As a result, they are able to connect with you on a deeper level. It can make your audience feel seen, heard, and safe in their own vulnerability.

Risks are part of the process of allowing yourself to be vulnerable, but the rewards are well worth the risks. As a result, it leaves you open to rejection, criticism, failure, and unwanted feedback, which can scare so many entrepreneurs away from exposing themselves fully.

“you wanna share from a place of your scars, not so much your wounds” Emmy

But the reward is being vulnerable puts you in a position to be seen and heard in an authentic way and allows your audience to connect with you. People buy from people they connect with and you opening up in this way helps you build those relationships. Business is all about relationship building. So if you want to grow your business you need to open up and connect with your audience.

Why add vulnerability to your brand? By doing so, you can establish a connection with your ideal client. To add vulnerability to your brand marketing, here are some Money Hits.

Money Hit #1: Be authentic. It means sharing your authentic experiences, thoughts, and feelings, regardless of how uncomfortable they might be. It enables others to connect with you based on where you are in your life right now and the journey you have been on.

Money Hit #2: Be Intentional. Make a decision about what you will share and why. Take into account the impact it will have on you and others. Having perfect words isn't necessary, but making sure your words are impactful and serving.

Money Hit #3: Practice Self-Care. Prior to sharing your vulnerability, take care of yourself and your mental health. Self-awareness may look like talking to a counselor, praying, or just being self-aware. Being able to navigate the risks of vulnerability starts with you.

Money Hit #4: Decide what's okay and what's not okay to share. Make sure your boundaries are part of your vulnerability. By doing this, you will be able to handle the risks of being open.

Money Hit #5: Engage in Conversations. Your being vulnerable allows others to feel safe in their own vulnerability.

Where do you share this deeper vulnerability on Instagram?

Your stories are the best place to share. It is your stories that allow people to connect with you and go on the journey with you. You don't always have to face the camera in these moments, but share your full story from a place of service.  You will be able to be more intimate with your followers.

You will grow your business if you stop hiding and let people know who you are. Put on your headphones and prepare to be vulnerable to grow your brand.
