Atheism is the denial of God's existence and it's absolute craziness in all its forms. Classical atheism denies the light of creation and deadens the light of our natural consciences. Practical and religious versions do much of the same in their practical manifestations. This denial of God has tremendously negative effects in the lives of men, women, and children, and societies as a whole. Join us as we discuss them and find that the answer to the problems atheism presents are found in turning to Christ and following him.

From prison, Paul writes that his suffering under house arrest has really served to advance the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. How is this possible? Join us and find out. We'll see that Paul's imprisonment brought the gospel to people who wouldn't have encountered it otherwise. It also gave him the opportunity to strengthen other believers to proclaim the gospel in their lives. And, it gave him a chance to help the Roman government understand Christianity properly as it was becoming embraced more and more.

We all know deceitful and slanderous people. They are driven by their love for themselves and desire to advance their own cause regarding of the cost to others. In Psalm 52, David helps us identify those people in our lives, teaches us how to deal with them, encourages to trust Christ fully while enduring the hardship they bring, and calls us to examine our hearts to repent from our tendency to slander others and pursue our own advancement.

The final message in our series on Mark's Gospel is titled, "The Suffering Son." In it we think about the depth to which Jesus suffered for us and what his sufferings mean to and for us. He is a distressed and devoted Savior as well as a dying Redeemer in Mark 14-15. Join us as we see our Savior as he suffered for us.

The religious leaders of Jesus's day challenged his authority regularly. They did it because they did not want to submit to him, follow him, nor did they want him to gain a significant following of people. Chief among their many reasons for this was their refusal to submit to him and receive him as their Messiah. These challenges often came as questions meant to trap him. Each time Jesus responds properly, avoiding the trap and proclaiming his central message to repent and believe the gospel of the kingdom of God.

Do you want to find your fulfillment and calling in life? Sure you do. The only way to do that is to die to yourself and to follow Christ in service of him and others. You will find your best self by sacrificing your pride and pouring yourself into a life of service of Christ and other people.

Jesus loves the little children,
red, yellow, black, white, and brown,
they are precious in his sight.
Jesus loves the children of the world.

And, those who are baptized into the covenant community of the church are exceedingly blessed by God, in his grace!

Jesus is the source of glory and he shows that reality to his disciples, those who have followed him up the mountain. Join us as we read and imagine the story of Jesus' transfiguration and receive encouragement from the fact that we, like the disciples, can have direct contact with the holiness of God and not die because we will stand with Jesus -- the bridge between God and sinful men, women, and children.
