This week truly is an extension of last weeks passage that talk about forgiveness and judgement. Grumbling is easy to do when things don't go exactly like we like it. Jonah knew that God was going to be gracious to the Ninevites, and instead of being excited about their turning, Jonah decides it would be better for him to grumble and die. How easy it is for us to get to a place where we want God to move in a certain way, and when he is more gracious than we want, we grumble and complain. We can not control what God does, or how he moves and works, but the one thing we can control is our response. May we get excited about the work of God, and not control His work, but respond in positive ways as God shows His mercy and Grace!

This passage looks at how the church is suppose to treat each other, especially within the church. Our call is to encourage and journey with each other, not judge and tear each other down. It is important that we are patient with each other, even when we do not see eye to eye on everything and realize that we are all working towards honoring God. This is a very timely message for the church right now, and one we hope is heard and lived out as we are pursing our growth in hope and living out our faith.

There is a reason that relationship is so important to God, but it is vital that we do not have a one sided relationship. In this episode, Pastor Rhonda and Pastor Seth discuss the discipline of silence and solitude and why it is important to following Jesus. We see all throughout scripture the need to STOP and be quiet. The Israelites had a whole day dedicated to this called Sabbath. We see all through scripture though, there is something amazing that happens when people apply silence to their lives. The amazing thing that happens is, God shows up. It is so hard in the world and cultures we live in to prioritize and be intentional about silence, but if we can work on developing this skill and discipline, we believe that God will speak and work like we could never imagine.
