Welcome again to Growing in the Word. Pastor Jim Jarrett is continuing his verse by verse study of Colossians today, and he takes us now to chapter three, verses nine through seventeen, where we see some further warnings about the consequences of an ungodly life.

We appreciate you tuning in today, because we have a really good message to share with you from one of the greatest chapters in the bible - Colossians chapter three. Pastor Jim is going to spend quite a bit of time in this chapter over the next couple of weeks because Paul's words here so perfectly describe the life of a Christian. It's not especially easy to be a believer in the year 2026, but we get some much needed encouragement in today's study.

Being a Christian in a secular world isn't always easy is it? You might even see the conflict between righteousness and worldliness on the job every day. The temptations are everywhere. But, as we'll see in our study today, Christians are supposed to set themselves above the ways of the world. It's a lofty goal, but one that is certainly not beyond our reach.

We are currently studying the book of Colossians, and pastor Jim is going to share today a review of what we have learned so far in chapter three. After Paul's admonishments about false teachings in chapter two, he gives us some challenging words in chapter three about our life in Christ. Are we living dead, or living alive?
