By day, Susan Parisher was an Army prison warden, but at night, she was a prisoner in her own home, abused by her violent husband. She was "rock bottom and faithless," but desperately cried out to God for help and safety. Then, as she grew in her new faith, she had to defeat the lies in her head and replace them with the truth of God's love through Scripture. We talk about being sensitive with those who are dealing with ongoing trauma and PTSD, as well as best responses from church leaders.
