Supplementary exams are incredibly stressful events filled coupled with a feeling of failure, mental and physical exhaustion and a loss of morale. By virtue of matric aka grade 12 exams done and results coming out relatively soon, many are eagerly and stressfully waiting see if they got into the program of their choice. An overwhelming number of first choices were competitive, such as for medicine, and most of them won’t get in. That’s just math and due to the limited number of places. If you’re one of the ones that doesn’t get it, it’s okay. Let’s talk about it

December 21, 2021 How Squid Game & TRHOD Got Me
I fell Fall the hype and watched Squid game, which was (spoiler) undeniably brilliant. While I may have some issues with it, it’s an incredibly beautiful, compelling and complex piece of storytelling. Loved it. On a very bored day of my holiday I cracked and watched The The Real Housewives of Durban and no one was more surprised than myself to find out that I enjoyed it quite a bit! Right now we’re in scary and uncertain times. One of the huge ways students are affected is... ha ha... their studies. As we adapt to remote learning and a life of self-study for the foreseeable future, here are some things (golden nuggets if you will) I learned from the Fees Must Fall era, which are applicable.

Please note that this episode was recorded on Wednesday 18 March 2020. Things will most probably look very different when you hear this as things are moving quickly during this pandemic.

In 2014 I was kicked out of medical school for failing chemistry one too many times. This is how I overcame the most colossal failure of my life.
