Grubstakers

This week's episode is about Howard Schultz, but this description is about you the listener. If you have been enjoying the pod let us know by DMing Andy and telling him how the clips he played this episode were too long and didn't represent fair use but were in fact wholesale content plagiarism. We discuss the Philadelphia incident, Starbucks' labor practices (firing people for unionizing), Schultz's rather questionable compensation package and the apartheid state he chooses to share it with.

On this special episode we veer into the multi-billion dollar weapons industry and how US foreign policy often functions as an advertising opportunity for companies like Raytheon and Lockheed. The revolving door between the big 5 arms makers and all branches of government along with the prevalence of lobbying should make any person concerned as to whether our euphemistically titled "defense budget" actually serves national interest or is simply a expensive subsidy for these firms and the Wall Street banks that control them. Plus Andy makes the genocide in Yemen funny!

On episode 11 we talk about hedge fund billionaire and star of the documentary Betting on Zero, Bill Ackman. Hear not only of his inspiring story betting that Herbalife would go down to zero dollars in value but his own quest to reduce his personal net worth to that amount through a bitter divorce and a terrible investment in the fraudulent Valeant pharmaceuticals. We had to release this one now because at $1.08 billion and falling he won't qualify to have an episode made about him much longer!

The full Grubstakers team are back together to talk about out and proud Republican Peter Thiel, his love for young blood, his hatred for mean news outlets that point out how bad his hedge funds are, his need for all data and CIA startup capital, his love of the mythical and how he considers diversity a myth, and his impeccable stage charisma. We also talk about the market game on BestBrokers and how we're all in the red because the stock market is on fire (the bad kind of fire). Anyway, give it a listen or Hulk Hogan said the N-word in his sex tape for nothing.

We got #23 on the episode check out how many eggs were cracked to make the Jumpman worth a billion dollars. You can fly! Rate, review and subscribe also we have a twitter where we get into many shenanigans, ahem, henanigans too.

On this episode we discuss Warren Buffet, the friendly grandpa billionaire who just wants to pay more taxes than his secretary and control every single airline. Yes, strangely enough the 3rd richest man on Earth actually owns a lot of things. You're putting money in his pocket every time you have a Dairy Queen malt or buy a Duracell battery. Most disturbingly he controls almost half the mobile home market and his companies foreclose on extremely poor people at 3 times the average national rate. Listen to hear all the things you'll never read in the sycophantic business press profiles of the Oracle of Omaha!

It's a special emergency episode responding to the recently passed Senate Bill 2155. It's such an emergency we released it a day late. We talk about the efforts by some Democrats to portray their watering down of Dodd-Frank financial regulations as a defense of small "community banks" and how corrupt and hollow these kinds of lies are. It's interesting we promise. Listen to the whole thing there's a game at the end. DO NOT SKIP TO THE GAME.

On this week's episode we examine the life and times of Oprah Winfrey, the only African American female billionaire in the world. We discuss her journey from poverty to wealth and some of the hucksters and scam artists she's inflicted on America along the way.

Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire ever who sacrificed his friends to build his social network. We talk about how he has caused depression to the masses,a myriad of poor judgments leading to him falling up, and other details about the supposed boy wonder. Find out all the trials tribulations and more on Grubstakers. Enjoy!

This week we ditch the format and talk generally about the Sackler Family who own Purdue Pharma, how antibiotics in our livestock is making superbugs and the overall process to get a drug approved in the United States. Enjoy!
